Persecution, violence and fear. Since 1951, UNHCR has helped some 25 million refugees to begin a new life. Possessive pronouns
1. Para substituir a construção Possessive adjective + substantivo, evitando repetições: This Picture is mine (em vez de This Picture is my Picture).
I took my books and she took hers (em vez de I took my books and she took her books).
2. Após a preposição OF, numa construção especial: Norberto is na old friend of mine (Norberto é um dos meus velhos amigos). Andrea was wearing a nice dress of hers (Andrea estava usando um de seus belos vestidos).
